SYMPTOMS

The Client Diagnostic Tool (clientdiag.exe) does not check for the UseWUServer registry value (1), which should be set to 1 on a client to ensure WSUS is used.

WORKAROUND
Check the entry manually

CAUSE
Bug in clientdiag.exe

STATUS
This is a confirmed WSUS RC BUG and Microsoft is investigating this issue.

The Client Diagnostic Tools is available for download as additional tools for WSUS RC, from the Beta Site.
See the "Report Bugs" section at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserversystem/updateservices/evaluation/trial/default.mspx. Sign in with the Guest ID WUSOEPPart. The Guest ID is case sensitive. Click the WUS Open Evaluation Program link. Tools are provided from the Tools link to the left to automate the collection
