Flaw in Forced Un Install of WUS Beta |
Flaw in Forced Un-Install of WUS Beta:
It turns out that the 'Forced Un-Install' of the WUS beta initiated by the WSUS RC is flawed.
Workaround:
- You need to Uninstall WUS Beta 2 from "Add Remove Programs" first.
- Install WSUS RC.
Note that the WSUS RC installs everything in an entirely new directory tree.
WUS beta installed to \Program Files\Microsoft Windows Update Services
WSUS RC installs to \Program Files\Update Services
WUS beta content was contained in \WUS\WUSContent, with the database in
\WUS\MSSQL$WUS
WSUS RC content is contained in \WSUS\WSUSContent, with the database in
\WSUS\MSSQL$WSUS
