I Hate WSUS

OK. Here is yours space to say what you think. If you have any feature requests you can add it to WSUS Wish List.

I hate that there's nothing really to hate about WSUS (SUS might be a different story). Yes it's sad that we have this situation requiring it in the first place. But to take that statement into the context of what one likes or doesn't like about WSUS is just  "wah, wah, wah"!

I hate wsus because it promised a way to update offline wsus servers and the provided tool is as cumbersome as updateing an offline sus server.

I HATE wsus because I am getting a stupid access denied message to a temp file in my profile when trying to migrate my sus data. No matter how many full controll perms i give it (network, system, aspnet account....etc etc) it still spits out that error. Why is it using my temp file anyway? Shouldn't it be useing the system temp file?

I hate wsus because I got sus installed and ready to go in 3 hours and its taken me 3 days to get to where I am, which is not even done yet.

I hate wsus because I can't even use it enough to figure out what else there is to hate about it.

I hate wsus because I am beggining to think  that an upgrade to 2003 will clear up these error and that is exactly what M$ wants.

I hate Wsus

Its junk. Why on earth can't a person install a microsoft software product and it work the first time? I have tried everything on the net on how to fix selfupdate tree not working issue. It will not see the clients. Even the server tool does not work. Its like all the other MS products they leave out a bunch of steps. I have seen a lot of emails on the subject so I am not the only one. Looks like we will have to buy another product instead of waiting on another patch to fix their product.I pray for the day when a company gives MS competion and makes MS do a better job.

I third that!  However, even if it weren't released as "open source", I'd be perfectly happy with an API or framework that would allow custom extensions to be added.  Maybe even a site dedicated to hosting uploaded custom extensions for things like retail apps (Acrobat, etc.) as well as internally-developed goodies.  I know, I know.  I'm putting down the crackpipe now...

I second that!

I hate WUS because, um, I don't have it yet!  I sure look forward to it, though.  And can you imagine if such a thing was open source?  And anyone could add patching for, say, Adobe Acrobat or anything?  I have been happy with SUS since it was available, and I'm hoping for WUS soon.

Well, I hate WUS because, um, because, well, er uh, because I can't think of anything to hate it for!  Man, I hate that.
